Born in Mexico City, Diego has earned a bachelor’s degree from CIEM (Mexico) in association with the Royal School of Music (GB) and a master’s degree from Koninklijk Conservatorium (NL) thanks to the support of Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA). He is currently a member of Percussion Group The Hague, ATLAS Ensemble, The Electronic Hammer, Soil, Ziggurat, and Pi (a duo with Kristina Fuchs). He also performs regularly with Nieuw Ensemble, Ives Ensemble, Insomnio and Alicia Sánchez Dance Company. Diego was member of the Amsterdam Percussion Group from 2002-2005. Many solo percussion works have been composed for and premiered by Diego. He is founding member of The Electronic Hammer, a computer percussion trio. They recently co-produced the self-titled album. The CD includes original compositions by the ensemble as well as commissioned works by J.S. Lach, Ricardo Giraldo, Rodrigo Sigal, and Cort Lippie. Diego has performed at international festivals including Taipei International Percussion Convention, PASIC, Holland Festival, Lowlands, Gaudeamus Muziek Week, RADAR, Forum de Barcelona, and SARC. In 2005 he performed throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia. |
